Taka Muraji

Senior Japan Specialist

Trainer & Executive Coach

Taka Muraji is a native of Japan and an experienced intercultural trainer who has worked in both  the U.S. and Japan facilitating business training programs. He holds a Masters Degree in Linguistics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and has been living in the United States for over thirteen years.

Before moving to the United States, Mr. Muraji worked in advertising in Japan and New York City from 1982 till 1996. He has provided consulting services for U.S. firms such as Disney and Motorola to help them establish marketing and advertising plans for Japan. He also conducted intercultural business training programs and team-building programs for such clients as Walmart-Seiyu, Yamaha, The Boeing Company, and Fuji Heavy Industrials.

He established GLOBALEX LLC. in 2003. Since then, he has been the managing director and training specialist. In the United States, Mr. Muraji currently designs and delivers cross-cultural business training programs to executives and high-potential employees working in global business settings. He has provided numerous programs to both US and Japanese companies in four strategic areas: US-Japan intercultural business management seminars, executive coaching for intercultural business management, effective communication training (assertion and active listening skills), and sexual harassment programs.  In 2009 Mr. Muraji performed extensive research into the cultural dimension affecting the Japanese culture and how they play out in business interactions.

In Japan, Mr. Muraji conducted a series of seminars and lectures for the Committee of Yonezawa City Industrial Development Project, the Mid-Year Seminar for the JET Program of the Yamagata Board of Education, and the Dewashonai International Forum. From 2003 to 2006, he participated in an official Yamagata government program “Understanding America Program” as a program coordinator and developer. In 2009, Mr. Muraji started working with the Yamagata College Consortium to develop and conduct their intercultural programs with American colleges.
